Quickie Post - iPod HDD scan in diagnostic mode

Much love goes out to Command-Tab for posting a quick and simple way to the diagnostic mode of Christel's (wife/lover/electronics abuser) iPod.

Long story short - do not leave your iPod in a car that gets up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit for about 2 weeks straight. It does not a happy 4th gen iPod make. I was able to bring it back to life by going into the diagnostic mode and run "HDD Scan." A total scan can take between 4 and 10 hours. Leave it powered via USB or wall wart while scanning.
