'Oh Holy Night' from Studio 60

Do you remember 2006? What crazy times. There was this television program that I recall watching called Studio 60. Studio 60 was well written, well acted, and quite compelling. NBC said, "Quality? We will have none of this." After one season, Studio 60 was canceled.

There was the great Christmas episode of Studio 60 with its rendition of 'O Holy Night' by Troy 'Trombone Shorty' Andrews and other New Orleans musicians. The rendition was wonderful, but has disappeared off of the NBC site. The song was gone. An eerie chill down went my back. I feared it was gone for good.

Good News - it is still out there. Here it is . (Hint: right click and "save as.")

One would be right not to expect much emotion out of an early 20-something guy like me, especially because I'm not big on holidays in general (much less a big commercial one like Christmas), but for reasons I still haven't figured out, on that night two years ago when I watched that episode of Studio 60, I cried.

I know it's a year later than you originally posted, but I wanted to thank you for helping me find that song again.

I really did not expect being able to find this. Thank you so much--Studio 60 is one of my very favorite shows, and this episode was one of my favorite episodes of any show I've seen.
And to the poster before me: I, too, cried when I saw this part of the episode. Every bit of acting is done flawlessly, and the music accents everything about the scenes.

Same here - thanks a lot for putting the song up!
I've been looking for it on and off, every time I remember the series, or hear the song. So glad I have it now!

I'm with you on being sad they cut the series after only one season - I loved Sorkin's West Wing, and equally loved Studio 60... oh well... have prob'ly watched the one season 10 times on DVD since... :)

Happy holidays!

Whoever you are, I just wanted to say thanks again. I was the original "anonymous" poster three years ago ... a writer in college at the time.

I've become a professional DJ since then, producing music and podcasts and playing in clubs all over my area to make a living. I get interviewed now and then, and people ask me my favorite song, and they're usually surprised when I tell them it's this one.

After what will likely be the last tough Christmas I'll suffer through for a while, I went looking for this song again and, of course, here it is.

Dunno if you ever check this blog, but thank you again another three years later.
