I live in Atlanta now.

Thank you, Mr. Neighbor, for the free wi-fi.

I had CNet as a neighbor for year and took full advantage of their public wifi from my apartment. The only drawback was the speed, still the internet is more enjoyable when its free. Between your HDTV attenna and your free wifi, you are probably saving a fortune on media related costs. Even if it's only $100 a month, it still adds up to over a grand per year. I like my South Park and my broadband too much to give it up, but I sure like the cost structure of your home entertainment setup.

CNet? They must have had huge pipes. Nice.

I am going to shell out the money to Comcast for Internet, though I could fill the apartment with wi-fi (un-encrypted) from the apartment complex with a little trickery.

I have a small, cheap Terk TV antenna coming to me from Amazon that I will be doing a quick write up on as soon as it comes. I forgot what it was like living in civilization - signals of all sorts falling from the sky.

Thanks D.F.

Unfortunately, Cnet wasn't much better than your neighbor's wifi. Still it was nice knowing that they were the ones on the hook for the bit torrent prosecutions. I haven't tried out the HDTV signals since moving to Oakland, but bought five dollars worth of wood screws so that I can make the homebrew attenna that you posted on your blog last week. I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick up all of the signals, but if I can, then I might consider ditching cable and just buying the shows that I really want to watch.
