I have always assumed that the RIAA/MPAA will go after the low hanging fruit first. First they hit webservers with copyrighted content, then the moms and grandmoms of the world using Napster like clients, then the bittorrent users via IP numbers, then colleges and universities.<BR/><BR/>I understand your sentiment, that usenet is widely available for anybody who wants it, so why keep it a secret. But, just use your imagination - how could it be shutdown? Ask yourself that and you will find yourself in the same place of an entertainment industry lobbyist or attorney.<BR/><BR/>I am not saying you are wrong AT ALL, I am in no way an elitist nor do I subscribe to their newsletter, but the **AA will try to take USENET down, one server at a time, when they run out of fruit. That is the **AA's reason for existence.
